9 Y10 pupils recently attended a residential in Cambridge as part of the Villiers Park Educational Trust Programme. As part of the experience they attended Trinity College Cambridge in which they were shown round by undergraduates even seeing their living quarters. The main aim of the residential however was to help them develop leadership and presentation skills which they did admirably when they worked with pupils from 3 other schools to plan, organise and put on an Open Day for a new University fit for the 21 st Century. Assessors acting as members of the public were treated to an excellent display of pupils teamwork and creativity. They left exhausted but exhilarated and eager to embark upon all that the programme will offer them over the next four years to help them access the best universities available to them at that time. |
